For an important company, leader in the sector of electric motors for the household appliances sector, we are looking for a:
 

SENIOR BUYER

The Senior Buyer is part of the Purchasing Department within Global Supply Chain and reports to the head of Procurement & Supply Chain. He / she will play a pivotal role in support to the company's procurement strategy growing in the Function to assume the role of Purchasing Manager.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To manage indirect procurement, including the purchasing of goods, services, supplies, and materials needed for daily operations. 

  • To work with a high level of autonomy of control and management of the supplier’s relationship and liaising closely with Technical Dept., Production, Finance and Sales to achieve targeted performance. 

  • To perform a procurement role for assigned product categories, by developing effective procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective, timely and high-quality procurement. 

  • To manage risks and source new suppliers including validation, contractual negotiation and supply transition management. 

  • To support project buying activities for new products.

  • To be responsible for the proper execution of Procurement Processes in the areas of Strategic Management and Source to contract. 

  • To be accountable for daily monitoring performance and results. 

PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Technical or business university degree: Engineering or Management  

  • Broad and proven track record of procurement experience in manufacturing companies, multinational preferential (5 plus years).

  • Demonstrates best cost sourcing in a technical environment.  

  • Proven contractual negotiating skills. 

  • Broad experience with supplier contracts and agreements, additionally project management within multi-disciplinary teams.  

  • Strong analytical skills.  

  • Fluent in English. 

  • Proven ability to conduct complex, quantitative and statistical analyses complimented with qualitative inputs from multiple sources to draw conclusions and make recommendations. 

  • Logical thinker with a good attention to detail and high level of commitment.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems including DRP/MRP, purchasing and inventory modules is a plus .

  • Proficient in use Lean tools whenever applicable and collaborating with other functions within the end-to-end supply chaiN.  

  • Strong User capability and experience with Power BI and MS Office, specifically with Excel (advanced), Word, Access is essential.
